The New Revolution

"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act". George Orwell

Yes! It's time for the New American Revolution because:
"That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive to these ends (to secure the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness & those rights as outlined in the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States), it is the Right of the People to alter and abolish it, and to institute a new government" - The Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776

The Buying of the Presidency

Many of you may have noticed a peculiar trend occurring among the talk radio opinion mongers. It seems that many of them have taken to besmirching Mike Huckabee while giving repeated passes to Mitt Romney. This trend has puzzled me for some time. I just couldn't figure out why these hosts would come down harder on one candidate than another when they are claiming to be unbiased and only giving the listener “the best election coverage”. These are people that I, along with millions of other rely on daily to give us a greater insight into the world around than the main-stream-media is reporting. Well, the answer to this dilema has become clear and a level of my trust has been dashed.

On November 16th 2006, Clear Channel, the company that owns the radio stations that most of these talk radio political gurus are contracted to, announced that they were entering into a merger agreement with Bain Capital. “So what?” you may ask, “corporate mergers happen all the time”. Well it just so happens that the founder and, at that time, CEO of Bain Capital was none other than Mitt Romney. Governor Romney is no longer CEO, however he remains a silent partner and recieves an income from the company.

What does this mean? It means that, essentially, Mitt Romney owns the contracts of Glenn Beck, Laura Ingram, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh (among other), all of whom have spent significant time on their respective shows denigrating Mike Huckabee. However, they all have a vested interest in doing so. Mike Huckabee is challenging their boss for the Republican nomination for President. One would think, at least, in the interest of fair disclosure, each of these pundits would announce their conflict of interest at the outset of their anti-Huckabee diatribes.

Another concern I have with this information is that it has never made it into the major media. Why is that? It really needs to be there.

Oh, one other thing: Almost all Clear Channel stations are also affiliated with Fox News. So much for fair and balanced. More like - Skewed and biased.

On the Threshold of a Dream or a Disaster?

An Open Call to My Students and all Young Americans

(Under the Age of Thirty- or maybe Sixty)

If you are of voting age, about to be of voting age or will be of voting age within the next four years, you had better listen up. Your life is about to change and you can either be in charge of that change or you can plug you ears with iPod headphones, immerse yourself in a vicarious video non-reality and let the old farts be in charge of the change for you.

Recent conversations, with my daughter (a recent college graduate), a young medical student friend (who identified himself as an apathetic socialist) and my high school students, have revealed a preponderance of youthful ignorance and appalling apathy when it comes to the current political landscape in the United States. This lack of interest and subsequent lack of voting may very well help bring about a change in American government that none of us want to experience.

With the Democrats' propensity toward increasingly socialist philosophies (I have been a life long Democrat but have recently left the party for these very reasons) and the loss of Constitutional rights that have occurred during the Bush administration, the United States teeters on the threshold of a disaster. If the trend is allowed to go unchecked we may very well be living in a socialist state within the next eight years. (More on this in an upcoming blog.)

If this should occur all of the niceties of your young lives will go away. Everything will change. Maybe not all at once, but change it will. Your ability to chose your doctor will be one of the first things to go. Then it will be your choice of schools; there will be only one choice, the government school (the Dems are decidedly against School of Choice). Then, your choice of whether to go to college or a vocational school. Eventually you will loose the right to decide what you do for a living, where you work and, maybe, even where you live. And I'm quite sure your Bibles will disappear along the way. In a socialist society, the government makes all your decisions for you.

Yeah, the initial presentation looks and sounds great: Every American will be able to have adequate health care; Oil companies huge profits will be used to do research into alternative energy sources and so on. But this is only the tip of the iceberg. For further reading check out Lenin's takeover of Russia.

My point young folks is this: America is at a critical juncture, you may be the force that keeps us free. You, my young friends, stand to be the Thomas Jeffersons, George Washingtons and Ben Franklins of your generation. Never since the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution have we needed such political creativity and courage as we do now. Do the research, check deeply into every candidate, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, and Independent alike. Check out what they say they stand for now and compare it to their records then make your decision based upon your values – not anyone else's!

Register and VOTE.

Mr. Rick

Only in America? Maybe Not.

Only in America? Maybe Not.

It is extremely disturbing that there are still those who continue to say they “REALLY LIKE” Governor Huckabee but are afraid he is unelectable because he doesn’t have enough funds. I keep reading about big name conservatives who wont endorse him because he’s not electable, and not electable because he doesn’t have money. This is ridiculous logic! Of course he doesn’t have money! You’re not giving it to him!

If Huckabee doesn’t have enough money it is only because all those people, who are voting against Hillary and not for their conscience, have swallowed all the media hype and are looking to settle for second best. They’ve been deluded into thinking second best is the only way to beat her. If we conservatives settle for second best – Hillary will win. And if we think best is not the way win the election ,we will not back and contribute our money, to the best.

When I was in high school I was on the track and swimming teams. When we went up against the best schools in the county we NEVER beat them with our second best runners and swimmers. If we had tried to do so, we would have lost badly. As it was we became one of the best schools in the county, and eventually the state, because we supported our best and used our best – and won. The same principle applies here.

However, the idea that he is not electable because he doesn’t have money is a frightening concept. Think about it. The idea that anybody might not be electable due to their socio-economic status grates against the American Dream. What’s the American Dream? When I was growing up there was a music group named Jay and the Americans who had a best selling song called Only in America. The theme of the song is that ANYONE can grow up to be president. Remember the great story of Abe Lincoln? He was born and grew up poverty stricken, lived in a log house, educated himself and became president. The whole idea behind that story is that if he can do it, so can anyone.

If Mike Huckabee is not electable because he doesn’t have enough money, the American Dream is dead; no-one who is not rich does has no chance at the presidency. America now must be run by the rich. If this is true we all might as well just go ahead and vote for Hillary’s Socialist Party, call ourselves Bolsheviks and change our countries name to the Socialist States of America. Because if a kid who’s washing cars can't grow up to be president, we need a Socialist America to take care of us because we’re evidently not capable.
